Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10-Aug-2026 · Last updated: 10-Aug-2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Sudoku ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our Sudoku puzzle application (the "App"), available on Google Play and/or the App Store. We built this App to be simple, offline-friendly, and respectful of your privacy. Please read this policy to understand our practices.

1. Information We Collect

The App is designed to work fully offline, and most of your gameplay data never leaves your device. Depending on the features you use, the following types of information may be involved:

Data TypeExamplesStored Where
Gameplay data Puzzle progress, difficulty level, notes/pencil marks, hints used, undo history Locally on your device only
Statistics Best times, win rates, streaks, trophies, completed daily challenges Locally on your device only
App preferences Light/Dark mode, mistake-limit setting, sound settings Locally on your device only
Device & usage data (optional) Device model, OS version, app crashes, anonymous usage analytics May be sent to analytics/crash-reporting providers, if enabled
Advertising identifiers (optional) Advertising ID, general (non-precise) location, ad interaction data May be shared with ad network partners, if the App shows ads

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or contact information to use the core puzzle-solving features of the App.

2. How We Use Information

3. Local Storage vs. Third-Party Sharing

Because the App is fully playable offline, the vast majority of your data (puzzle grids, notes, statistics, preferences) is stored locally on your device using standard app storage mechanisms and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. This data is removed if you uninstall the App or clear its storage.

If the App includes optional online features — such as crash reporting, analytics, or advertising — those services may collect limited technical data as described below.

4. Third-Party Services

The App may use the following types of third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

These providers may collect device identifiers, IP address (used to derive approximate, non-precise location), and interaction data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

[If your App does not include ads or analytics, remove the relevant rows/sections above before publishing.]

5. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for a general audience and is not directed specifically at children under 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If the App is configured to serve ads, we take steps to ensure ads shown to users identified as children comply with applicable regulations (e.g. Google Play Families Policy, COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data that is transmitted or processed through third-party services described above. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

Local gameplay data remains on your device until you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App. Any data sent to third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising services is retained according to those providers' own retention policies.

8. Your Choices & Rights

9. International Users

If you use the App from outside the country in which our servers or service providers are located, your information (where applicable, e.g. via analytics or ad services) may be transferred to and processed in other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
