ConvertX is built offline-first, which means most of what it does happens entirely on your device. This page explains exactly what that means for your data.
ConvertX ("we," "our," or "the app") is a currency conversion app designed to work offline, with exchange rates refreshed once every 24 hours. Because ConvertX is built to function without a constant connection, it does not require you to create an account, and it does not collect the kind of personal information that apps with cloud sync or social features typically do.
In short: your conversion history, preferences, and settings stay stored locally on your device. We do not operate user accounts, and we do not sell personal data.
ConvertX does not require registration, a name, an email address, or a phone number to function. We do not collect:
Standard, non-identifying technical information (such as app crash logs, if you have crash reporting enabled at the operating system level, or aggregate install analytics provided by the app store) may be available to us through the Google Play Console, in line with Google Play's own developer policies. This is separate from anything ConvertX collects directly.
To support offline use, ConvertX stores the following information locally on your device only. This data is not transmitted to us and is not accessible to us:
Past calculations, amounts, and currency pairs you've converted, saved so you can refer back to them.
Your recently used and favorited currencies, so the smart picker can surface them quickly.
Decimal precision, theme (light/dark), and other display preferences you've configured.
The most recently fetched rates for 150+ currencies, refreshed roughly once every 24 hours.
If you uninstall the app or clear its storage in your device settings, this locally stored data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by us, since we never had a copy of it.
Once every 24 hours, ConvertX connects to the internet briefly to fetch updated exchange rate data from a currency rate provider. This request typically includes standard, non-identifying technical information (such as your device's IP address and app version) that is inherent to making any network request, but does not include your conversion history, amounts, or any identifying details you've entered in the app. This connection is used solely to retrieve public exchange rate figures.
ConvertX's home screen widgets display the conversion pairs you've chosen directly from data already stored on your device. Widgets do not collect additional data beyond what the main app already stores locally, and the conversion pairs you configure for a widget stay on your device.

Used exclusively for the daily exchange rate refresh described above. ConvertX does not use this permission for advertising, tracking, or background data collection unrelated to rates.
ConvertX relies on a third-party exchange rate data provider to supply daily currency rates. We do not share your personal information with this or any other third party, because we do not collect personal information to begin with. If we introduce optional features in the future that involve additional third-party services (for example, crash analytics), we will update this policy to describe them before they go into effect.
Because your conversion history and settings are stored only on your device, you are always in control of that data:
ConvertX is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect personal information from any user, this applies equally to users of all ages.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
